About us

A Positive Image is a women's enrichment ministry dedicated to the spiritual shaping and character development of women by discipling them through the Word of God.

We teach the Word through workshops, conferences, and Bible studies and through books and materials that are both relevant and timely for today's Christian woman.

A Positive Image also has a publishing division that produces materials for the bible studies, conferences and the workshops that we offer.

Our resource department also offers books and materials written by other wonderfully anointed women of God.

MISSION STATEMENT

A Positive Image is dedicated to helping women come before God authentically, allowing Him to develop them into the women He created them to be. We desire to disciple, equip and assist women with the issues that they face today. We want to inspire and encourage her as she faces the daily challenges of balancing life, family, church and most importantly, her relationship with the Almighty. It is our hope that the broken hearts of women will mend, that their personal goals and dreams will be realized in a positive and godly way. Our goal is that they bring glory and honor to our Lord Jesus Christ as they interact with family, church and community. We desire to encourage them to become women of excellence who live life with "A Positive Image"…. His image.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe in one God creator and sustainer of the universe and all things created. Infinitely perfect and eternally co-existing in three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe that the Scriptures are the inspired, inerrant and infallible Word of God which reveals His plan for salvation and it is the final authority in all matters relating to the human condition, the regeneration of the spirit and all issues relating to life. We were created perfect and in the image of God and existed peacefully with Him until our first parents Adam and Eve fell from His grace through sin. Their disobedience plunged them and all human beings into the depths of sin, suffering, guilt, shame and death both natural and spiritual. We believe that Jesus Christ is the only way to God. He bridged man to God through His substitutianary death on Calvary. He and He alone provides a way for justification, forgiveness and salvation for all who believe. Only then are we born of the Spirit and will spend eternity with Him. We believe that the Holy Spirit is the one who does the regeneration work within us and that He renews believers in Jesus Christ. He makes the presence of Jesus Christ real in the life of the believer. He convicts us of sin and enables us to live holy lives before God.

We believe and wait expectantly for the glorious return of our Lord Jesus Christ. At this time every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

Emily Spongberg

Emily Spongberg has been walking with the Lord since the age of 14. She is a sought after Speaker, Author and Bible Teacher. Her greatest passion is to teach God's Word. She has been teaching God's word for over 35 years. She has helped many women overcome spiritual and emotional difficulties through her insightful teaching methods.

She is the Founder and President of “A Positive Image Ministries,” located in Glastonbury, CT. The ministry is solely dedicated to discipling women through the Word of God where they will find their true identity in Christ.

Emily’s passion is teaching women about the Lord's restorative, transforming and healing power through her interactive Bible Studies, Workshops, Conferences and her books which are being released in the coming year.

Emily is married to Tim Spongberg, her talented artist husband, friend and faithful supporter. She has four grown children and 5 grandchildren. She is the author and creator of a children's book series entitled "Hannibal and Friends" her first book in the series "Hannibal and the King" is now in bookstores.

Due to the increasing interest in her Bible studies, the ministry will be releasing One of her favorite bible studies which is now a book by the same name, “The Man Who Loved Women.”
